Muve® is a brand
new, extremely versatile hybrid of dance and exercise. It is improvisational but
also structured. The structure is an underlying grid of Positions, Poses, Muves
and Gears (see "muve basics" for details). Muve® works with
any type of music and for people of any shape, age and size. It covers the full
spectrum of body movement, from complete stillness to highly energetic dance.
Individual body parts explore their movement possibilities in harmony with music.
The goal in muve is to release the body's full movement potential so that you
can flow with the rhythm, freely and joyously. Muve® loosens up joints
and brings muscles and bones to life that don't get to move to their full potential
during your daily routine.
Discover your Body's Potential
Every muscle, tendon, and bone has its own range of movement. Moving all parts
to their fullest capacity keeps the body feeling well. However, over the years
many of us have fallen into a confined routine of sitting, standing and lying
down, interrupted by occasionally running around. muve is aimed at unlocking the
natural motion you commanded as a child, and enhancing it with the balance and
control of your adult body.
Music Food for the Soul
While you can muve to any musical rhythm, there are some musical pieces that inspire
motion more strongly than others. One piece relaxes you in a heartbeat and another
makes you fly. Music styles vary from Dance, Blues, Jazz, Latin, Reggae, Swing,
New Age, Word Beat to Classical. muve uses the power of music to evoke the emotions
and natural motions that are already within you.
Nobody is Watching
On the dance floor nothing should matter but the joy of dancing. Sounds simple,
but for most people it isn't. Most people give up because it seems too complicated,
or they fear standing out by doing something wrong. In muve there is no wrong.
muve has no complicated stretches or combinations, just the natural flow of energy
and movement. You learn to extend your range of movement, and step outside of
your usual "box" of motion.
